WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue baseball's home opener at Alexander Field this week is moving up a day to Thursday at 4 p.m. ET in an effort to maximize favorable weather conditions.
Off to a program-record 12-0 start, the No. 21 Boilermakers are scheduled to host first-time opponent Bellarmine for their first of seven home weekends this season. It's a scheduled three-game series, originally slated for the traditional Friday-Saturday-Sunday format.
The remainder of the updated weekend schedule will be determined after Thursday's game. If weather conditions allow games to be played Friday or Saturday, the teams will attempt to play.
Fans with tickets for Friday can use those tickets for Thursday's home opener or exchange them for any other game this weekend. In the event of cancellations, tickets can be exchanged for general admission seats for any future home game (excluding the April 8-10 series vs. Indiana).
March 10 would mark the earliest home opener in program history. All games this weekend are scheduled to be streamed live on the Big Ten Network's B1G+ app and website.
