WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Vice president and director of intercollegiate athletics Mike Bobinski and the Purdue Softball program are proud to announce the installation of a new videoboard at Bittinger Stadium. The state-of-the-art display is planned to be installed ahead of the 2022 home opener vs. Illinois on March 25.

"We're very grateful for the passionate fans and John Purdue Club members, many of whom were former Boilermaker student-athletes, who stepped up to help us provide state-of-the-art videoboards for our baseball and softball facilities," said Bobinski. "These enhancements will further elevate the environment and experience at Purdue baseball and softball games."

The board will be 26.4 feet by 15.6 feet and 411.8 square feet in total. The pixel pitch, which is the distance between individual pixels that make up the display, will be 10 millimeters, providing a crisp and clear image to all inside the venue. Anthony James Partners has served as technical consultant for the project, overseeing installation of the Daktronics videoboard by Purdue University.

"Bittinger Stadium is one of the premier softball stadiums in the country and the addition of the videoboard seals its place amongst the best," said head coach Boo De Oliveira. "We want to continue to produce a top-notch game day experience for our student-athletes and fans, and this videoboard is the next step. We are very grateful to all the donors who helped bring this vision into reality."

The videoboard will be the first of its kind for Purdue Softball, and will coincide with the installation of Boilermaker Baseball's own at neighboring Alexander Field.

"Bittinger is one of the nicest facilities in the country and I am so thankful to be able to use it," said sophomore and 2021 Big Ten All-Freshman Team selection Kaitlyn Brannstrom. "I want to thank the John Purdue Club, Purdue alums and Mike Bobinski for the new videoboard and helping to make game days at Bitt an amazing atmosphere."
