MELBOURNE, Fla. – Purdue Women's Golf sits in eighth place (+24) after 36 holes of the Columbia Classic. Senior Inez Wanamarta finished the first two rounds at 3-over, tied for 15th on the individual leaderboard, to lead the Boilermakers.
After grinding out 15 pars and three bogeys in her opening round, Wanamarta found some birdies during second round on her way to an even-par 72. She recorded four of them throughout the afternoon to counter four bogeys and jump into the top 15.
Redshirt-freshman Jocelyn Bruch fired a pair of 2-over 74s and is tied for 18th heading into the final round. She matched Wanamarta with four birdies over the first two rounds.
Daniela Ballesteros started her tournament 1-under through six holes before settling for an opening-round 73 (+1). The junior made just one birdie in round two on her way to a 79 (+7).
After a struggle in her morning round, Ashley Kozlowski bounced back in the afternoon. She shaved 10 strokes and shot a 2-over 74. Through 36 holes, Kozlowski ranks fourth in the field in par-3 scoring, playing the short holes at even par.
Purdue wraps up play tomorrow at Duran Golf Club, beginning at 8:30 a.m. ET. Paired with Northwestern and Boston, the Boilermakers begin the shotgun start on holes 8-10.
