WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – A slate of seven home meets, headlined by the men's Big Ten Championships in February and the three-day Purdue Invitational in November, highlight Purdue swimming & diving's 2021-22 schedules.

The Boilermakers' schedules are front loaded with home meets. From Oct. 15 to Nov. 20, there are seven days of competition at the Morgan J. Burke Aquatic Center. Purdue will host Minnesota (men), Rutgers (women), Michigan (co-ed) and Missouri (co-ed) during that stretch as well as multi-team co-ed meets on Oct. 16 and Nov. 18 to 20.

The men have the honor of hosting the Big Ten Championships for the fourth time at the Burke Aquatic Center (also in 2004, 2009 and 2016). The co-ed diving portion of the Big Ten Championships was also held in West Lafayette this past season. Including Brandon Loschiavo this year, the Purdue men have won at least one Big Ten title every year they have hosted the conference championship meet.

The Purdue women are in line to host either the 2023 or 2024 Big Ten Championships. Wisconsin's second-year Soderholm Family Aquatic Center has the honor of hosting this year and is expected to join the men's meet rotation soon as well. Purdue had the opportunity to compete at UW's new pool in January of this past season. Four of the first five women's Big Ten Championships were held in Milwaukee, but the meet has not returned to the state of Wisconsin since 1986.

Meanwhile, the three-day, six-session Purdue Invitational (Nov. 18-20) is back on the schedule for the ninth time as a co-ed meet since the Burke Aquatic Center opened in August 2001. The Boilermakers also hosted the Purdue Invite in November of 2005, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2015, 2017 and 2019. It debuted as a men's only meet in November 2003. Louisville, Northwestern, Missouri State, Illinois State, FIU and McKendree are expected to have student-athletes in attendance this year.

Missouri is a new addition to the schedule. The Tigers will join Michigan as part of a special 2 p.m. co-ed triple dual matinee on Friday, Nov. 5. A men's triple dual with Arizona and Mizzou in Tucson in January 2003 marked the last time the Boilermakers competed head-to-head vs. the Tigers. Besides the Big Ten Championships, Michigan is set to make its first trip to West Lafayette since January 2014.

The first large meet of the season is set for Saturday, Oct. 16. Various universities from around the state are traditionally in attendance for the annual Indiana Intercollegiates in October. It was not held in 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions, marking its first absence from the schedule since the Burke Aquatic Center opened.
