WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind.  The Purdue women's basketball team rolls into a stretch of five games in 11 days Wednesday night with a road trip to Illinois State. Tipoff on ESPN+ is set for 7 p.m. (ET).

LAST TIME OUT
Purdue started the Gearlds Era at Mackey Arena with a 70-62 win over Western Michigan. The Boilermakers were paced by the sophomore duo of Madison Layden and Ra Shaya Kyle who finished career highs of 20 and 19 points, respectively. Cassidy Hardin knocked down four 3-pointers and tallied 14 points in the win.

NOTES
• Purdue trails the all-time series with Illinois State 5-3. The Boilermakers dropped the lone meeting with the Redbirds since 1991, a 59-57 loss at Mackey in 2010.
• The Boilermakers have 18 3-pointers through two games, the most to start a season in program history.
Abbey Ellis recorded 11 assists and five steals against Western Michigan, marking the first time a Boilermaker hit that mark since 1987.
• The Boilermakers have started both games this season with an 11-0 run.
• Purdue now sits at 889 wins all-time, 11 victories away from joining the 900 club.
• Madison Layden passed Katie Gearlds for the second-longest 3-point streak in program history with her 23 straight games. The sophomore trails only Ashley Morrissette's mark of 25.

Cassidy Hardin is averaging 10.5 points per game this season, up from a 2.8 mark last year.
