WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue junior Nick Dentino has been named the John K. David Player of the Year, the Indiana Golf Association announced last week.

Dentino had a strong summer to become the fourth Purdue golfer in the last 11 years to win the award (Tyler Duncan – 2011; Adam Schenk – 2013; Joe Weiler – 2019), and is off to a good start in his junior season at Purdue.

Dentino recorded three top-six finishes in the Indiana Golf Assocation's premier events over the summer, placing fourth at both the Indiana Open and the Indiana Amateur and sixth at the Indianpolis Open.

So far this year, Dentino has appeared in four events, recording a 72.73 stroke average with three rounds of par or better, while ranking third on the team in birdies (34).

The Boilermakers are currently ranked No. 22 in the latest Golfstat national rankings, to end the fall season. Purdue has three top-three finishes in its four events this fall.
