ABU DHABI - Purdue Women's Golf junior Kan Bunnabodee (Chonburi, Thailand) played an electric event this past week at the 2021 Women's Amateur Asia-Pacific, turning in a runner-up performanc with a 15-under-par tournament.
Bunnabodee (75-64-68-66 -- 273), along with fellow Boilermakers Sifat Sagoo (New Delhi, India) and Inez Wanamarta (Surabaya, Indonesia), played in the event from Nov. 10-13, hosted at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club.
Wanamarta tied for 13th place at 6-under-par (69-72-69-72 -- 282), while Sagoo tied for 25th at 3-under-par (71-72-72-70 -- 285).
An 8-under-par 64 carded by Bunnabodee during the second round turned out to be the lowest round of the entire tournament by any player.
Speaking with the tournament's organizers after the event, Bunnabodee said, "It's kind of crazy because after round one I never imagined that I could come this far. But after that eight-under par round I just kept going."
Addtionally, former Boilermaker Ida Ayu Indira Melati Putri (Bali, Indonesia) tied for 11th at the event, shooting 7-under-par (75-69-67-70 -- 281).
