WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue Men's Tennis alumnus Gergely Madarasz continued his meteoric rise in the professional ranks with a spectacular September.

The 2019 graduate posted a career-best 617 ranking by the Association of Tennis Professionals and a 410 ranking by the International Tennis Federation.

In four straight weekends, Madarasz claimed two titles at the M15 Vyshkovo in the Ukraine (Sept. 20-26) and in Montenegro's M15 Ulcinj (Aug. 30-Sept. 5), while taking runner-up honors at the M15 Zlatibor in Serbia (Sept. 13-19). Not daunted by the challenge, he moved up to the M25 level with a tournament in his home nation's capital Budapest (Sept. 27-Oct. 3), reaching the second round of the main draw.
