Heading into the second competition of the fall, the Purdue men's tennis team will send Athell Bennett to the 2021 ITA All-American Championships this week in Tulsa, Okla.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Heading into the third competition of the fall, the Purdue men's tennis team will send Athell Bennett to the 2021 ITA All-American Championships this week in Tulsa, Okla.

Bennett was the lone Boilermaker to receive a bid to one of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's national events, slated to run Oct. 2-10.

During the 2019 campaign, Bennett went 16-6 in singles play with seven ranked wins. The Valley Stream, N.Y., native climbed up to No. 20 in the ITA national rankings, the second highest in program history.

Bennett opened his 2021-22 season two weeks ago at the Purdue Invite, winning his only singles match in straight sets. Last week at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional, Bennett went 2-1.
