WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue women's tennis team returns to the courts this weekend for the ITA Ohio Valley Regional on the campus of Middle Tennessee State. The Boilermakers will take their full roster to compete in the annual regional showdown with spots in the ITA Fall National Championship on the line.

A pair of Boilermakers opened the tournament in singles qualifying Wednesday. Seira Shimizu topped Yu-Hua Cheng from Austin Peay in straight sets 6-1, 6-3. Nathalia Wolf Gasparin held on after a close set to beat UT-Martin's Adriana Ondo 7-5, 6-2.

This weekend marks just the second fall competition for Purdue since 2019, after hosting the Purdue Invite to start the year. Csilla Fodor and Rut Galindo both posted perfect 3-0 marks in singles play, while Galindo and Shimizu went 2-0 in the doubles flight. Newcomer pairing Juana Larranaga and Tara Milic finished the event 2-1.
