ROSEMONT, Ill. - Purdue Football earned both Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week from the Big Ten Conference for the first time since the 2018 season on Monday (Oct. 18), with junior WR David Bell (Indianapolis, Ind.) and junior S Cam Allen (Bluefield, Va.) earning the honors. Bell's receiving exploits powered Purdue to victory at No. 2 Iowa (Oct. 16), 24-7, while Allen's two fourth-quarter interceptions sealed the deal on the historic win.

The dual awards have not landed in Purdue's hands together in the same week since Oct. 22, 2018, the Monday following the Boilermakers' win over No. 2 Ohio State (Oct. 20, 2018).

Bell hauled in 11 receptions for a career-high 240 yards (21.8 avg.) and a touchdown in the win, with his 240 receiving yards standing as the second-highest single-game total in team history behind only Chris Daniels' 301 yards vs. Michigan State in 1999. Additionally, the 240 receiving yards are the second most by a FBS player in a single-game this season, trailing only Texas' Xavier Worthy (261 vs. Oklahoma on Oct. 9)

The effort saw Bell eclipse the 200-yard mark for the first time in his career. He has registered at least 100 receiving yards in 14 of his 23 career games. The honor is the second Offensive Player of the Week accolade of his career, and Bell was also named Freshman of the Week four times in 2019.

Allen added four tackles (two solo) along with his two picks, which helped him become the first Boilermaker to register two interceptions in a game since Cory Trice on Oct. 12, 2019. Additionally, Allen is just the 11th Purdue defender to record a multi-interception game since 2000.

Allen led the secondary effort against Iowa that limited the Hawkeyes to just 195 yards passing on 32 attempts (6.1 yards per attempt) and just 271 yards of total offense.
