WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue men's golf team looks to end its fall slate on a high note, hosting the Purdue Fall Invitational at the Kampen Course on Monday and Tuesday.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue men's golf team looks to end its fall slate on a high note, hosting the Purdue Fall Invitational at the Kampen Course on Monday and Tuesday.
 
The 12 teams in the field will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday, via shotgun start. Action is slated to begin at 9 a.m. ET, Monday and 9:30 a.m., on Tuesday.
 
The field is comprised of mostly Big Ten and MAC schools as Purdue puts a cap on the fall season. Seven of the teams are ranked in Golfweek's most-recent rankings (as of Oct. 7), led by the Boilermakers at No. 25, Indiana at No. 32 and Kent State at No. 33.

LAST TIME OUT
Purdue won its first team title in almost two years in thrilling fashion last week, defeating Missouri by one shot at the Rich Harvest Farms Intercollegiate. The Boilermakers, which trailed by five shots with about eight total holes to play among its five players, used a Herman Sekne birdie on the final hole to win the tournament at 21-under par. Individually, Sekne's birdie on 18 gave him medalist honors by one shot and Joe Weiler finished tied for sixth for his 10th career top-10 placing.
 
PURDUE LINEUP
  • Joe Weiler, Senior / Bloomington, Indiana
    • Continues to play well to start the season, posting three top-12 finishes in three events (10th at Erin Hills, T-12th at Olympia Fields; T-6th at Rich Harvest Farms.
    • All nine of his rounds have been 73 or lower.
    • Ranks 34th in PGA Tour University, the second-highest ranked player in the Big Ten.
    • Owns 10 career top-10 finishes (in 39 events), moving him into 10th all-time in top-10 finishes at Purdue. Has 12 career top-20 finishes.
    • Owns a career 73.17 stroke average – good for third in school history behind Austin Eoff (72.82) and Timmy Hildebrand (72.92).
    • Since the start of the 2019-20 season, 28 of his 54 rounds have been even or under par and is a cumulative 4-over par (71.80 stroke average in that span).
 
  • Cole Bradley, Senior / West Lafayette, Indiana
    • Strong start to the 2021-22 campaign with a T-6th finish at Erin Hills (67-70-71= 208).
    • After a rough start at Rich Harvest Farms, responded with a final-round 66 to help Purdue to the team title.
    • Ranks seventh on Purdue's career stroke average list (73.41).
    • 10 of his last 17 rounds dating to last year have been even or under par.
    • Needs 602 strokes to become just the eighth player in school history to amass 10,000 career strokes – a who's who of Purdue golf.
 
  • Herman Sekne, Sophomore / Oslo, Norway
    • Sekne is off to an outstanding start as a sophomore, posting three top-25 finishes (T-12 at Erin Hills; T-24 at Olympia Fields; 1st at Rich Harvest Farms). Won his first career tournament last week at Rich Harvest Farms (11-under par).
    • Has posted a team-low score in five of nine rounds so far this year.
    • Averages 68.67 strokes in the first round this year (67 at Erin Hills; 70 at Olympia Fields; 69 at Rich Harvest).
    • All nine rounds have been 74 or lower.
    • Owns a 72.90 career stroke average in 30 rounds.
 
  • Andrew Farraye, Junior / St. Augustine, Florida
    • Returns to the lineup after posting a top-10 finish at the Rich Harvest Farms Intercollegiate.
    • Owns a 72.33 stroke average and a cumulative 2-over par tally.
    • Has six top-20 performances in 19 career events.
 
  • Nick Dentino, Junior / Carmel, Indiana
    • Owns a 72.13 stroke average with three rounds of par or better.
    • Has four career top-20 showings in 17 events, including a top-20 at last year's Boiilermaker Invitational at the Kampen Course.

THE COURSE
The Kampen Course is rated one of the top collegiate courses in the nation and has been awarded 4.5 stars on Golf Digest's "Places to Play." Kampen receives high marks, being ranked as one of the most difficult golf courses in Indiana. The course has also played host to a number of prestigious collegiate and public tournaments such as the 2000 Men's Big Ten Championship, the 2003 Women's NCAA Championship, the 2004 Indiana Open, the 2005 Women's Western Amateur, and the 2008 Men's NCAA Championship, the 2017 NCAA Men's Regional Championship and is slated to host a 2024 NCAA Men's Regional.
 
PURDUE FALL INVITATIONAL
This will be the inaugural event of the Purdue Fall Invitational. Normally played in the spring, Purdue will host the Boilermaker Invitational on Ackerman-Allen Golf Course in April.
