WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue women's tennis team played a split hidden dual of day two of the Purdue Invite on Saturday at the Schwartz Tennis Center, facing Louisville in singles and doubles against Miami.
In the singles portion, Purdue split the six contests. Csilla Fodor was a set up and ahead in the second when Andrea Di Palma, 6-4, 2-1. Carmen Gallardo Guevara held off Sasha Gorchanyuk to win in straight frames, 7-6(1), 6-3. Rut Galindo wrapped up the singles victories with a 6-1, 7-5 win over Tyra Richardson.
In doubles Tara Milic and Juana Larranaga cruised to a 6-2 win against Catherine Denysiewicz and Nishitha Saravanan. The tandem of Rut Galindo and Seira Shimizu ousted Sara Zalukar and Emilia Valentinsson in a 6-3 bout.
The Boilermakers will close the Purdue Invite on Sunday morning against the same teams. Purdue will play Louisville in doubles at 10 a.m., before a singles session against Miami at 11 a.m.
