WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Kan Bunnabodee took home top honors and her Boilermaker teammates all finished among the top 20 players at the eighth Women's Porter Cup at the Niagara Falls Country Club in Buffalo, New York, this week.
Bunnabodee, a rising junior, carded a 4-under 212 over 54 holes to win medalist honors among the 63 players in the field. She opened the three-day event with 2-under 70 on Wednesday, posted a 1-over 73 Thursday and rallied for a 3-under 69 in the final round Friday to take the tournament title by three strokes over four other players.
Bunnabodee's classmate Sifat Sagoo was among the quartet of players that finished second, carding a three-round 1-under 215. After opening the Porter Cup with a 1-over 73, Sagoo carded back-to-back 1-under 71s.
Rising senior Danielle du Toit finished in a tie for 11th with a 54-hole score of 5-over 221. She saved her best golf for the final round with a 1-under 71 over the last 18 holes.
Redshirt freshman Jocelyn Bruch and graduated senior Inez Wanamarta ended up in a tie for 17th in the field with matching 8-over 224s. Bruch shot even-par 72 in the opening and final rounds of the event.
