WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Highlighted by five matches at Folk Field, the Purdue soccer team's 2021 Big Ten Conference schedule was unveiled by the league on Thursday.
The Boilermakers' 10-match Big Ten schedule features home contests against in-state rival Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota and Northwestern. Purdue also travels to Illinois, Nebraska, Ohio State, Penn State and Wisconsin.
After a conference-only slate in 2020-21, non-conference opponents will return to the schedule in the fall of 2021. The Boilermakers' non-conference schedule will be announced once it is finalized.
The Big Ten season begins with a pair of road matches, at Nebraska on Sunday, Sept. 19, and at Illinois on Thursday, Sept. 23.
Big Ten play at home begins against Iowa on Sunday, Sept. 26. The Hawkeyes come to Folk Field after they won the Big Ten Tournament and made the NCAA Tournament last season.
Michigan then comes to West Lafayette on Thursday, Sept. 30. Purdue travels to Wisconsin on Sunday, Oct. 3, and hosts Minnesota a week later on Sunday, Oct. 10.
The final two road matches of the regular season will see the Old Gold and Black travel to a pair 2020 NCAA Tournament clubs. The roadtrip begins at Ohio State on Thursday, Oct. 14, followed by a visit to reigning Big Ten champion-Penn State on Sunday, Oct. 17.
The regular season concludes with two matches at Folk Field, beginning against Northwestern on Thursday, Oct. 21. The finale is a rivalry matchup against Indiana on Sunday, Oct. 24, when Purdue will look to keep the Golden Boot Trophy for a seventh consecutive year.
Postseason play begins with the Big Ten quarterfinals on Oct. 27 and 31.
