Boilers Off to NCAA Regional

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The women's golf team will play in its 24th NCAA Regional this Monday through Wednesday at the par-72, 6,247-yard University Club on the campus of LSU in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The top six teams and top three individuals after the 54-hole regional will move on to compete in the NCAA Championship at The Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, beginning May 21.
 
Purdue last appeared in the NCAA Championship in 2019, finishing tied for ninth out of 24 teams. The Boilermakers won the team title in 2010.
 
The Boilermakers are coming off a seventh-place finish at the Big Ten Championship which was played May 10-12 at the TPC River River's Bend in Maineville, Ohio.

• Best 54-hole score is an even-par 216 at ICON.
• Has scored the lowest round a team-best eight times and posted the be team's best 54-hole score at Heroes Ladies Intercollegiate in February.
• Leads the team with 239 pars and a pair of eagles in 2021.
• Is second on the team with 54 birdies.

 
Danielle du Toit, Junior

• Appearing in her sixth event of the year and the 25th of her career.
• One of only two Purdue players in Baton Rouge with NCAA Regional experience.
• Shot a 4-over 220 at the 2019 Norman Regional to finish in a tie for 36th in the individual standings.
• Is averaging 74.2 strokes per round in 2021.
• Has shot par or better three times in 2021 and 26 times in three seasons with the Boilermakers.
• Low round of the year is a 1-under 71 in the second round of the Valspar Invitational and at the Big Ten Championship.
• Low 54-hole score in 2021 is a 2-over 218 at Valspar in which she played as a an individual.
• Has 160 pars on the year, 40 birdies and an eagle.

 
Ashley Kozlowski, Freshman

• Making her fifth appearance for the Boilermakers this season.
• Is averaging 76.0 strokes per round.
• Has shot par or better twice in 2021.
• Low round of the year is a 1-under 71 at the ICON Invitational in February.
• Low 54-hole score in 2021 is 10-over 226 at the Valspar Invitational in March.
• Has posted 119 pars and 32 birdies in 12 rounds this season.

 
Sifat Sagoo, Sophomore

• Appearing in her eighth event of 2021 and the 13th of her collegiate career with Purdue.
• Is averaging a team-best 73.6 strokes per round this season.
• Has shot par of better five times in 2021 and 11 times in her collegiate career.
• Low round of the year is a 2-under 70 at the Indiana Invitational in April.
• Best 54-hole score this season is an even-par 216 at the Indiana Invitational in which she placed in a tie for sixth.
• Is second on the team with 238 pars and third with 44 birdies in 2021.

 
Inez Wanamarta, Senior

• Appearing in her sixth event this season and the 36th in her collegiate career.
• Has the most NCAA Regional experience on the team, having played in the 2019 Norman regional and the 2018 Madison Regional.
• Shot a three-round 4-over 220 in Norman in 2019 to finish in a tie for 36th and a 12-over 228 as a freshman in Madison in 2018.
• Is averaging 73.8 strokes per round in 2021.
• Has shot par or better five time in 15 rounds this season.
• Low round of 2021 is a 2-under 70 at the ICON Invitational in February.
• Low 54-hole score of the year is 2-over 218 at the Valspar Invitational in March.
• Is third on the team with 191 pars in 2021 and has recorded 28 birdies this season.

 
THE COURSE
The University Club is an impressive 7,700 yard par 72 golf course created under the watchful eye of PGA Champion David Toms and LSU Alumni Jim Lipe.  They have taken their years of golf experience and have created a course that will test the best in the country and still have the capability to provide an enjoyable experience for members to enjoy.  The home course of LSU winds through beautiful Louisiana wetlands while providing stunning views and exciting golf.

NCAA REGIONAL HISTORY
The Boilermakers have advanced as a team to the last six regional championships, and 23 of the last 24 overall, dating to 1997. During this run Purdue has moved on to the NCAA Championships 18 times, including 14 in a row from 2000-to-2013, and the NCAA West Regional title in 2006. The Boilermakers have shot under par as a team twice in the regional tournament, shooting 4-under, 860 over 54 holes in 2006, and 2-under 862 in 2007, and posted a top single-round score of 5-under 283 in South Bend, Indiana in 2015. Purdue's 54-hole individual record was set at an NCAA Regional as Paula Reto shot a 10-under 206 in 2013, and her final-round, six-under 66 is the Boilermakers' best-ever for 18 holes.
