WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue men's golf team heads to Carmel, Indiana, and Crooked Stick Golf Club for the 2021 Big Ten Championships. Competition begins Friday and runs through Sunday at the prestigious 7,325-yard, par-72 layout north of Indianapolis.
The teams will play 18 holes each day with tee times off the Nos. 1 and 10 tees. The final round will be held Sunday and admission is free to the public. This will mark the first time that the Big Ten Championships will be played at Crooked Stick and the first time in the state of Indiana since 2016 (Victoria National Golf Club – Newburgh, Ind.).
All 14 teams will descend on Crooked Stick with the goal of improving their Golfstat ranking in hopes of advancing to the NCAA Regional Championships. Purdue enters the event ranked 70th in the rankings, likely just on the outside of the magic number, but a strong finish would likely propel the Boilermakers inside the cut line. Purdue enters the event as the fifth seed, but finished second in its last appearance at the Big Ten Championships in 2019 at the Philadelphia Cricket Club.
Purdue is looking for its first Big Ten Championship since 1981 and its first individual champion since Pariya Junhasavasdikul in 2007.
