Women's Golf Set for Indiana Invitational

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The women's golf team will head to Bloomington, Indiana, Saturday and Sunday to play in the inaugural Indiana Invitational at the Pfau Course. The Boilermakers have finished seventh as a team in their last two tournaments (Valspar and Clemson Invitationals) and are looking to build momentum heading into next week's Big Ten Championship.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The women's golf team will head to Bloomington, Indiana, Saturday and Sunday to play in the inaugural Indiana Invitational at the Pfau Course. The Boilermakers have finished seventh as a team in their last two tournaments (Valspar and Clemson Invitationals) and are looking to build momentum heading into next week's Big Ten Championship.
 
The 16-team field includes all 14 Big Ten schools along with Kent State and Xavier.

  • Appearing in her sixth tournament of the year.
  • Has shot par or better in a round a team-high six times in 2021.
  • Has three top 20 finishes individually this season.

  • Low 54-hole score of the year is a 3-under 213 at the ICON Invitational where she tied for 12th.
 
Sifat Sagoo, Sophomore
  • Appearing in her sixth tournament of the year and 12th of her collegiate career.
  • Has shot par or better three times this season.
  • Low 18-hole score of the year is a 1-under 71 at the Valspar Invitational.
  • Low 54-hole score of the season is a 2-over 218 at the Valspar Invitational.
 
THE COURSE
The Indiana Invitational marks the first-ever women's collegiate tournament to be played at The Pfau Course. Designed by highly-acclaimed architect Steve Smyers and two-time major winner and Hoosier native Fuzzy Zoeller, The Pfau Course opened to the public on June 15, 2020 and offers a unique, world-class layout that is set in the natural beauty of southern Indiana. The par-72 course will play at 6,254 yards for the invitational
 
Among the notable features are 147 bunkers, greens that range in size from 4,145 to 10,014 square feet, and six sets of tees that extend to as much as 7,908 yards. Smyers utilized the area's natural topography in designing the course, while also highlighting the combination of forest, open space and forest edges that result in both amazing views and a wonderful golfing test.
