- Purdue is looking to bounce back after dropping its sole match last weekend to their in-state rival Indiana 4-0.
- Mateo Julio and Santiago Galan teamed up in their first match as a duo this season against Indiana, dropping the match at No. 3 6-2.
- Purdue's two opponents this weekend faced off last Sunday, with Illinois besting the Wildcats 4-1.
- Northwestern boasts a duo of ranked singles with No. 58 Dominik Stary and No. 88 Steven Forman, as well as a ranked doubles pairing of No. 57 Simen Bratholm and Nick Brookes.
- In their last matchup, Purdue ended a seven match losing streak against Northwestern when they beat the Wildcats in the first round of the 2019 Big Ten Tournament.
- Illinois's sole Big Ten loss came to No. 9 Ohio State on Feb. 21st, losing 4-1. Outside of that loss, Illinois is outscoring their Big Ten opponents 37-7.
- In the ITA National Team Indoor Championships, Illinois took down No. 1 USC in their first match of the tournament. The Fighting Illini also beat No. 7 Virginia on that trip, but fell to No. 4 Baylor.
- Purdue has won one match in their last 32 meetings with Illinois dating back to 1994.
- Illinois carries four nationally ranked singles players in No. 15 Alex Brown, No. 35 Aleksandar Kovacevic, No. 82 Siphosothando Montsi, and No. 112 Zeke Clark. Brown and Kovacevic make up the No. 15 doubles pairing in the nation.
