AUGUSTA, Ga. – Women's golf rallied to score a combined 1-under 287, a season-low, in the second round Saturday to find itself eighth in the standings of the 16-team Valspar Invitational at Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. The Boilermakers' opening two-round score of 579 leaves them 3-over par heading into Sunday's final round.
Individually, sophomore Sifat Sagoo paced the Purdue team-scoring players with an even-par 144 (73+71=144). She carded four birdies in the second round and sits tied for 30th in the player standings. Junior Danielle du Toit, playing as a non-team-scoring individual, matched Sagoo's two-round score (73+71=144). For each, the 1-under par 71 in the second round was their finest 18 holes of the 2021 season.
A trio of Boilers, junior Thitapa Pakdeesettakul (70+76=146), senior Inez Wanamarta (75+71=146) and freshman Ashley Kozlowski (74+72=146), are tied for 35th individually after the opening two rounds.
Duke leads the two-day tournament after Saturday, carding a team score of 25-under 551 after the initial two rounds. South Carolina's Paulina Roussin-Bouchard shot a 10-under 134 to pace the field of players.
