WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – With Week 2 of the Purdue softball season running Thursday, March 11 through Sunday, March 14, the Boilermakers (2-4) return to Leesburg, Florida to take on Maryland (3-3) and Nebraska (3-3) each in a three-game series.

Purdue Team Notes
- The Boilermakers recorded 23 runs and 20 RBI over its first six games, good for fourth-most in each category over opening weekend.
- Purdue ranks No. 8 in the Big Ten with a .218 batting average.
- Four Boilermakers recorded a double: Rachel Becker (3), Cora Bassett (3), Becca Jones (1) and Kiley Goff (1).
Pitching
- Sophomore Ashley Peters led the Purdue pitchers with a 2-1 record on the weekend after pitching a team-leading 14.0 innings and a 1.000 ERA.
- Peters also produced double-digit strikeouts over her four appearances (11).
- Junior Alex Echazarreta (0-0) pitched 11.0 innings
In the Big Ten Rankings
- A total of seven Boilermakers appear the top-10 in the Big Ten's statistics after the first weekend of play (Cora Bassett, Rachel Becker, Kaitlyn Brannstrom, Kiara Dillon, Kiersen George, Kiley Goff and Becca Jones).
- Shortstop Rachel Becker ranks second in the league with a .526 batting average after recording a league-best eight runs with 10 hits on 19 at-bats.
- Together, Becker and Bassett rank among the top-10 in the league in five categories: Batting average, slugging %, runs scored, hits and doubles.
- Sophomore outfielder Cora Bassett checks in at No. 2 in the league with a .727 slugging %, meanwhile Becker joins the list at No. 5 (.684).
Freshman Force
- Kiley Goff led the freshmen with two runs scored.
- Newcomers combine for five RBI and
- Kaitlyn Brannstrom tied for the second-most RBI with veteran Becca Jones, notching three on the weekend. Additionally, Brannstrom's 21 at-bats are the seventh-most by a Big Ten player this season.
- Kiara Dillon led the newcomers with a .273 slugging %, good for fourth-best on the team. She is also one of just two Boilermakers to produce a triple this season.
- On defense, Brannstrom led the Boilermakers with a team-leading 25 putouts. Goff checks in with 20, the second-most on the team.
