WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Trevion Williams has been named one of the 30 players to the 2021 Jersey Mike's Naismith Trophy Midseason Team for Men's Player of the Year, the Atlanta Tipoff Club announced Thursday.
Williams is one of eight Big Ten players on the list, six of which are considered their team's top post player.
Entering tonight's game at Minnesota, Williams is averaging 15.4 points, 9.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game while accumulating eight double-doubles. In Big Ten play, he is on pace to become just the fifth player in the last 30 years to average at least 16 points, nine rebounds and two assists per game.
Williams ranks second in the league in rebounding (31st nationally) and second in double-doubles (14th nationally). He leads the league in offensive rebounding, ranking ninth nationally.
Williams has led the Boilermakers to a 13-7 overall mark and Purdue is 8-5 in the Big Ten, entering Thursday's game tied for fourth in the Big Ten Conference.
