The Boilermakers are looking to shake off a 54-49 defeat at Illinois last Sunday. Despite a plus-18 rebounding margin and 20 more field goal attempts, the Boilermakers fell on the wrong side of a late 7-0 run in the final minute of the game. Thursday night was originally supposed to be the second meeting between the Boilermakers and Wolverines, but a Jan. 24 tilt in Ann Arbor was postponed when all University of Michigan Athletics was put on hold for two weeks. Purdue is Michigan's first game out of their imposed break.
Redshirt senior Fatou Diagne saw her four-game double-double streak come to an end against the Fighting Illini, but she took her double-figure rebound stretch to five games. The Senegal international averaged 12.1 rebounds per game over the last five outings and is one of five players in the Big Ten to average at least nine points and nine rebounds per league outing this season.
