SARASOTA, Fla. – The women's golf program will host the inaugural Army Ranger Lead the Way Fund (ARLWF) Heroes Ladies Intercollegiate Sunday through Tuesday at The Founders Golf Club in Sarasota, Florida. The 54-hole, 15-team tournament will feature a single round each day.
The first-year event replaces the Lady Puerto Rico Classic, which Purdue hosted from 2003-19.
ABOUT ARLTWF
Army Ranger Lead The Way Fund, Inc., a 501c3 non-profit, is an active duty, casualty assistance, recovery, transition and veterans organization that provides financial support, beyond that the government and Veterans Affairs can offer, to U.S. Army Rangers and the families of those who have died, been disabled or who are currently serving in harm's way around the world.
ARLTWF was founded in honor of Sgt. James J. Regan by his parents, Jim and Mary Regan. Sgt. Regan was killed in action in Iraq on Feb. 9, 2007.
Events surrounding the collegiate tournament, including a charity golf outing Monday, will benefit the ARLTWF.

THE COURSE
Following the ancient contours of traditional Scottish Links courses, The Founders Golf Club's 18-hole championship course takes its cues from the gently rolling terrain. Set against a backdrop of centuries-old oaks, pines and palms and highlighted by a natural buffer of lush, untamed landscape, the 6,281-yard, par 72 layout offers a dynamic route along groomed fairways, tranquil lakes and unspoiled wetlands. Each hole is sculpted in harmony with the natural beauty of the landscape to elevate the challenge and exhilaration of play. The course is a "core" design, where golfers cross no roads during play and where homes are carefully set back from the field of play.
