WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The women's golf team will open its 2021 schedule Sunday at the 15th-annual UCF Challenge in Orlando, Florida. The three-day, 54-hole event will be played at Eagle Creek Golf Club.
 
Purdue will send five golfers to the event, freshman Kan Bunnabodee, sophomore Danielle du Toit, sophomore Thitapa Pakdeesettakul, freshman Sifat Sagoo and junior Inez Wanamarta.
 
This is Purdue's third straight season competing at the UCF Challenge.

PURDUE LINEUP
  • Kan Bunnabodee, Freshman
Appeared in three of Purdue's varsity events after enrolling in December 2020 … averaged 72.3 strokes per round and finished par or better four times … low round of the year was a 4-under par 68 at the ICON Invitational in Houston … made collegiate debut at the UCF Challenge last year, shooting a 1-under par 215 over three rounds to finish in a tie for 21st.
 
  • Danielle du Toit, Sophomore
Played in all six varsity tournaments in the abbreviated 2019-20 season, averaging 74.4 strokes per round … led the Boilermakers with a pair of eagles and was second with 48 birdies on the season … shot a 6-over 222 at the UCF Challenge last year
 
  • Thitapa Pakdeesettakul, Sophomore
Transferred to Purdue from Kent State … 2018-19 MAC Freshman of the Year … 2018-19 second-team All-MAC … shot a 3-under 213 at the 2019 UCF Challenge to finish in a tie for 15th while helping the Golden Flashes to second-place standing.
 
  • Sifat Sagoo, Freshman
Played in all six tournaments for the Boilermakers last season, averaging 73.0 strokes per round … posted Purdue's lowest round score seven times and its lowest tournament score three times, both of which led the team … best finish of the season was a 6-under par 210 (71-71-68) at the ICON Invitational, which placed her as runner up in the field … was 2-over par with a 218 at the 2020 UCF Challenge.
 
  • Inez Wanamarta, Junior
Purdue's most veteran player, having appeared in 29 career varsity events … appeared in all six tournaments in 2019-20 … averaged 75.44 strokes per round over 18 total rounds … low round of the 2019-20 season came at the UCF Challenge (2-under 70)
 
THE COURSE
A par-72, 6,349-yard course, Eagle Creek Golf Club has played host to the Knights' annual event for the last seven seasons. Designed by Ron Garl and Howard Swan, it is part of a group of designated "Audubon International Silver Signature" courses, featuring more than 90 white sand bunkers and dramatic bulkheads embracing water hazards and greens, all nestled beneath a canopy of towering trees and foliage.

PURDUE AT THE UCF CHALLENGE
The Boilermakers have appeared in the event each of the last two seasons, finishing eighth last year with a team score of 1-over par 865 and sixth in the team standings at eight-under par 856 in 2019.
