WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Three shades of red are now slated to be represented at Purdue swimming & diving's Feb. 6 home meet as the men and women of Ohio State join the field for the Big Ten dual.
The Boilermakers were already scheduled to host Indiana and the Rutgers women on Saturday, Feb. 6. Coaching staffs for all the participating teams were receptive to the addition after the Buckeyes' meet at Michigan that same weekend was canceled in the wake of a department-wide pause in athletics activities in Ann Arbor.
Purdue Athletics is once again planning to utilize the mezzanine level of the Morgan J. Burke Aquatic Center for team space and adequate social distancing. Due to those safety protocols, home meets remain closed to the public.
With OSU now in the mix, the start time for the Senior Day meet has been moved up an hour to 10 a.m. ET. A traditional 16-event dual meet format is expected to be utilized, with two heats of each swimming event per gender. Purdue competed in a similar co-ed triple dual last weekend in Madison.
The meet will be streamed live on BTN+ and live results will be available here at PurdueSports.com.
Purdue has not hosted the Ohio State women for a dual meet since Halloween 2015. The OSU men's last trip to West Lafayette for dual meet action was in November 2013.
