WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Highlighted by 11 regular-season matches, the Purdue soccer team's 2020-21 schedule has been announced.
 
The Boilermakers' 22nd season features six home matches and five road contests, and all 11 will be in Big Ten Conference play. The schedule commences on Saturday, Feb. 20, and the regular season concludes on Saturday, April 3. A "wildcard weekend" follows from April 8-11, while the Big Ten Tournament is set for April 15-18.

Purdue's home schedule is highlighted by a senior day matchup against in-state rival Indiana on April 3, along with contests against Maryland, Michigan State, Northwestern, Rutgers and Ohio State. The squad's road schedule features a trip to reigning Big Ten-champion Wisconsin, the Boilermakers first visit to Madison since they upset the top-seeded and No. 7-ranked Badgers in the 2019 Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals. Purdue also travels to Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota and Nebraska this spring.

The Boilermakers, who commenced preseason practice on Thursday, open the season on Saturday, Feb. 20, at Illinois. Purdue's home opener is set for Thursday, Feb. 25, against Maryland, and the weekend concludes in West Lafayette vs. Rutgers on Sunday, Feb. 28.
 
The month of March begins with a trip to Nebraska, on Thursday, March 4, and Wisconsin, on Sunday, March 7. The Boilermakers then return home for three matches over the next two weekends, beginning with Northwestern on Saturday, March 13. The homestand continues vs. Ohio State on Thursday, March 18, and concludes against Michigan State on Sunday, March 21.
 
Purdue travels to Minnesota on Thursday, March 25, and Iowa on Sunday, March 28. The Golden Boot is on the line on Saturday, April 3, as the Boilermakers host Indiana in the regular-season finale and will go for their sixth consecutive win in the rivalry.
 
A "wildcard weekend" for the Big Ten's 14 teams will be held from April 8-11. Each squad will play 1-2 non-conference matchups against league opponents. The exact format, match dates, opponents and locations for the weekend will be announced at a later date.
 
Four teams will qualify for the Big Ten Tournament, which is slated for April 15-18 and consists of two semifinals and a championship match. The highest remaining seed will host the annual conference championship event.

The NCAA Tournament selection show is set for Sunday, April 18, and the 48-team tournament will conclude with the NCAA Championships from May 13-17 in Cary, North Carolina.
 
Additional information about Purdue's home matches will be announced at a later date.
 
All eleven starters from the 2019 season returning to the pitch in 2020-21, including every minute played in goal. Eighty-seven percent (46 of 53) of the Boilermakers' points scored last season are back. Purdue is coming off a 2019 campaign where they earned a Big Ten tournament berth and a spot in the semifinals thanks to a quarterfinals victory at top-seeded and No. 7-ranked Wisconsin.
