WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue men's tennis head coach Pawel Gajdzik announced that Milledge Cossu will join the program for the 2021 spring campaign.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue men's tennis head coach Pawel Gajdzik announced that Milledge Cossu will join the program for the 2021 spring campaign. 

"We'r thrilled to welcome a player of Milledge's caliber to our program," Gajdzik said. "He's had tremendous success in juniors and throughout his career. I think he will have a solid impact on our program when he arrives on campus for the spring."

Cossu hails from North Miami Beach, Fla. A former five-star recruit, ranking as high as No. 72 in the nation by the Tennis Recruiting Network, Cossu reached No. 348 in the ITF World Junior Rankings.

During his junior career, Cossu reached five singles semifinals and a pair of championship matches – Barbados Cup 2018 and Martinique-Le Diamant ITF Junior 2018. On the doubles side, Cossu racked up 15 semifinals appearances.  His trophy cabinet includes wins at the 2018 Curacao Open, the THA B-Mobile Tobago Junior ITF in 2017 and the Panorama International Junior ITF in 2017, as well as a pair of runner-up honors.

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Cossu has lived in Argentina, Taiwan and the United State. He speaks English and French and intends to major in business management. His mother, Elizabeth Galphin, climbed all the way up to No. 185 in the WTA world rankings during her career.
