WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Head coach Dave Shondell announced the addition of Michael Bouril as the Purdue Volleyball Graduate Manager. Bouril, a 2019 graduate from Penn State, worked with the team as a manager.
"I am very excited to have Michael on board," Shondell said. "Michael spent the past two years with Coach Russ Rose at Penn State University where he managed a team under the guidance of arguably the best head coach in the history of our sport. Michael brings a rare combination of talents in that he has tremendous volleyball knowledge, is well-trained and experienced in the area of technology, understands the value of hard work and putting in the necessary time to better the product. We are expecting big things from Michael."
Bouril spent the 2018 and 2019 campaign serving as a traveling manager for the Penn State women's volleyball team, which went on to two NCAA Regional Final appearances. In addition to primarily assisting the Director of Operations and assistant coaches on a day-to-day basis, Bouril brings an analytical background as well, having received a degree from Penn State in Mathematics with a minor in computer science. Owning coaching experience as well, Bouril has recruited, trained and developed athletes as East Coast Power Volleyball Head Coach and Associate Director since December 2016.
"It is a great honor for me to join the Boilermaker Family," said Bouril. "I have heard nothing but great things about the individuals, the culture and the program, and the opportunity ahead of me is one of a kind. I would also like to thank the Penn State staff for preparing me for this position. I must also thank my alma mater Hempfield High School and East Coast Power Volleyball club for giving me opportunities to grow and learn early in my career."
Graduating from Penn State in the fall of 2019, Bouril will pursue a Master's degree in Recreation and Sports Management at Purdue.
