WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. Purdue head coach Sharon Verysp added another piece to her 2020-21 roster on Wednesday with the signing of transfer Rokia Doumbia. After playing two seasons at Arkansas, Doumbia will have two years of eligibility remaining when she arrives in West Lafayette.

During her two seasons in Fayetteville, Doumbia helped the Razorbacks win 46 games, sit in the top 25 nationally and reach the third round of the 2019 WNIT. She featured in 55 games and shot 39.2% from the field for Arkansas.

"I'm really excited to have Rokia join our family," Versyp said. "Her experience and versatility will be a major impact on our program. She has competed against some of the best talent in the nation, and we cannot wait to get her started in our system."

Prior to joining the Razorbacks, the 5-foot-9 guard was a four-star recruit out of IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., where she finished her prep career. She also played for Hamilton Heights Christian Academy, in Fayetteville, Ark., and the Arkansas Banshees.

Doumbia also brings a wealth of international experience during two seasons representing Mali at the U16 level. She was named to the all-tournament team and tournament MVP of the 2015 FIBA Africa U-16 Championship, where she averaged 14.9 points on 41.8% shooting, 3.4 rebounds and 2.9 steals to lead Mali to its third straight title.

She was the 97th-ranked player in the nation and No. 25 point guard in the class of 2018 by ESPNW HoopGurlz.
