WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue men's tennis team will send two players to the next round of ties for the Davis Cup in March. Seniors Julian Saborio and Franz Luna will represent Costa Rica and Guatemala, respectively, as their nations vie for promotion in the international tennis competition.
The Boilermaker duo will attempt to lead their nation to the World Group II in the play-off March 6 and 7. Saborio and Costa Rica will host Bulgaria at the Costa Rica Country Club in San José, Costa Rica. Luna and Guatemala will square off with Tunisia at Federación Nacional De Tenis in Guatemala City, Guatemala.
The winner of each match will gain promotion into the World Group II with the next round of matches set for September.
The Boilermakers will be back at Schwartz Tennis Center on March 1 for a doubleheader against Drake and Cleveland State.
