WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The latest Track & Field National Rating Index includes nine ranked Purdue track & field student-athletes along with the team event rankings, where the Boilermakers are in the top-25 in six events.
Both the Purdue men and women are ranked No. 63 nationally. The men are No. 2 in the Great Lakes Region and No. 5 in the Big Ten Conference, while the women check in at No. 7 in the region and No. 10 in the Big Ten.
The fifth week of rankings were announced today by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). For the second week, rankings are based solely on marks earned through the first seven meets of the 2019-20 campaign.
A total of nine Boilermakers are ranked in the individual event rankings, with four in the top-15.
Senior Janae' Moffitt has Purdue's best national ranking, at No. 9 in the high jump. She jumped a meet-record 1.81 meters on Jan. 17, at the Larry Wieczorek Invitational in Iowa City, Iowa.
In the 200-meter run, senior Samson Colebrooke checks in at No. 15. On Jan. 24, he finished in 20.88 seconds, the third-fastest time in school history and the fastest by a Boilermaker in the event since 2014. Colebrooke also is No. 17 in the 60-meter dash thanks to a time of 6.65 seconds on Jan. 10.
Also on Jan. 24 at the Rod McCravy Memorial in Lexington, Kentucky, junior Jalil Brewer recorded a shot put throw of 19.50 meters, which ranks No. 15 in the nation.
Senior Jah Strange is also No. 15 in the country. He scored a triple jump mark of 15.98 on Jan. 17, 0.01 meters shy of his personal-best mark that is tied for third-best in program history.

Purdue earned six marks that rank in the top 10 in program history and won five events to conclude the indoor regular season on Saturday at the Alex Wilson Invitational at Notre Dame. Sophomore Jessica Bray moved into sole position of fourth place in the Purdue record books with pole vault mark of 4.17 meters to win the event. In the triple jump, junior Tamar Greene improved on his indoor mark that is No. 5 in Boilermaker history with a jump of 15.95 meters that also won the event. Freshman Johnny Vanos also improved on his top-10 weight throw mark, with a throw of 20.31 meters that ranks No. 7 all-time. Freshman Marcellus Moore entered the Boilermaker record books in the 200-meter dash with a victory in 21.25 seconds, the eighth-fastest time in Purdue history. For the first time in her career, freshman Amaya King stamped her name in the record books thanks to a throw of 15.30 meters in the shot put, which ranks No. 8 all-time. The sixth top-10 mark came in the long jump, courtesy of senior Asia Young, as she jumped 5.95 meters, which won the event and is the 10th-best jump indoors in team history.
