WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue men's tennis team is set for a colossal doubleheader Saturday at the Schwartz Tennis Center. The Boilermakers will square off with Indiana at noon, before a 6 p.m. clash with Valparaiso.

The Boilermakers continued their string of strong performances with a doubleheader sweep of Chicago State and IUPUI last Saturday. Purdue has won seven of its last eight matches, taking the doubles point in four of the last five.
Athell Bennett secured his career-high ranking in the ORACLE/ITA poll at No. 20. The mark is the second-highest singles spot in program history behind Jason Marshall, who was tabbed 17th in the nation in 2000. Bennett is 7-2 in singles play this season, including a pair of wins against players ranked in the top five.
The Hoosiers are 5-3 this season, including wins over Notre Dame, UC Santa Barbara and Xavier. Bennett Crane was ranked 86th in the nation in singles play with a mark of 10-6 this year. Crane and Zac Brodney have teamed up for the No. 42 doubles pairing in the nation.
Purdue has dropped the last three matchups with its in-state foe. Indiana leads the 2019-20 Governor's Cup 6.0 to 3.5 with a full point up for grabs Saturday.
Valparaiso sits at 3-3 on the year, prior to a matchup against Ball State on Friday night. Brandon Ancona has led the way at the top of the lineup with a 4-2 record.
