Purdue (14-10, 7-6) looks for its fourth win in a row when a surging Penn State (18-5, 8-4) squad visits Mackey Arena. • Purdue owns a 39-12 series lead against Penn State, having won nine straight games against the Nittany Lions. Six of those nine wins have come by single-digits, including three wins in overtime. 

• Penn State enters the game as one of the hottest teams in America, having won six straight games and jumping from No. 22 to No. 13 in this week's Associated Press Top 25 poll. This meeting will mark the first time in the 52 games all time that an unranked Purdue team will face a ranked PSU squad.

• With seven regular-season games left, five of Purdue's seven opponents are either nationally-ranked or receiving votes. As it currently stands, four of the last seven opponents will be quad-1 opportunities with Michigan  (32) and Rutgers (31) just sitting outside the top-30 (home game). 

• In Purdue victories, the Boilermakers have five players averaging at least 9.6 points per game and are shooting 48.3 percent from the field and 40.2 percent from long range. In Purdue losses, Purdue has only four players averaging at least 7.0 points per game and are shooting 35.5 percent from the field and 27.2 percent from long distance.

• Purdue has had at least a four-game Big Ten winning streak in eight of the last 12 years. A win over Penn State would be Purdue's fourth straight. 

• Purdue is 13-0 this year and 33-1 since the start of last year when shooting a higher field goal percentage than its opponent. The lone loss came to Virginia in last year's Elite Eight. The Boilermakers are 1-10 when shooting a lower field goal percentage than its opponent (win vs. VCU). 

• Since the 2014-15 season, Purdue is 28-9 (.757) during the month of February. Since the 2016-17 campaign, the Boilermakers are 20-5 (.800) during the month of February. The Boilermakers have won seven straight games in the month by an average of 12.2 points per game. 

• Purdue freshmen and sophomores have combined for 974 points this year (40.6 PPG), accounting for 58.8 percent of Purdue's scoring this year. 

• Purdue is 9-1 when scoring at least 70 points this year (loss to Michigan), but is just 5-9 when being held under 70 points.

• Over the last three games, Purdue is shooting 52.1 percent from the field and 48.6 percent from 3-point range. The Boilermakers have six players averaging at least 9.0 points per game.

• Purdue's four wins over AP Top 25 programs this year are tied for the third most in the country.
