Softball Adds Sunderland as Supervisor of Operations

The Purdue softball program named Trista Sunderland as Supervisor of Softball Operations.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue softball program named Trista Sunderland as Supervisor of Softball Operations.

"We are excited to welcome Trista, her husband Tyler and their baby Josh to our Purdue softball family," head coach Boo de Oliveira said. "Their core values align with our vision for the team and we are glad they decided to become Boilermakers."

As a member of the Purdue softball program, Sunderland will work closely with Purdue's external relations department, coordinate the team's travel and player schedules and assist with community outreach efforts.

"Trista is a great addition to our staff and the program," de Oliveira said. "She played and coached college softball and has worked in collegiate operations. Her experiences, goals and personality make her a great fit for us."

Sunderland, a former Central Michigan softball player, joins Purdue from the University of Indianapolis, where she was the Athletics Administrative Assistant since November 2018. During her time at Indianapolis, Sunderland operated expenses for all 21 athletic programs, planned and scheduled transportation for all programs and oversaw travel for football.

Prior to her time at Indianapolis, Sunderland's stops include IUPUI as the Athletics Administrative Manager for Internal Operations, the NCAA as Champions Marketing Extern and the University of Indianapolis as a women's softball graduate assistant.

Sunderland was a softball student-athlete at Central Michigan, where she received numerous Mid-American Conference (MAC) honors including first-team All-Mac and a pair of second-team All-MAC nods in addition to CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District recognition.
