Women's Golf Tied for 3rd at UCF Challenge

ORLANDO, Fla. – The women's golf team opened its spring schedule with a 1-over par round of 289 at the UCF Challenge on Sunday. The Boilermakers are tied with Kent State for third in the team standings, two strokes behind Miami for second and seven behind Michigan State for the lead.
 
Individually, junior Inez Wanamarta fired a 2-under par 70 and sits in a tie for fifth. After opening the shotgun start with a bogie on the sixth hole, Wanamarta carded three birdies and 14 pars the rest of the day.
 
Freshman Kan Bunnabodee, playing in her first collegiate tournament, posted a 1-under par 71 in the opening round. Bunnabodee, who overcame a bogie and double bogie with four birdies on the day, is tied for 11th in the individual standings.
 
Freshman Sifat Sagoo sits in a tie for 29th after carding a 1-over 73 Sunday, while senior Micaela Farah is tied for 49th after an opening round of 3-over 75. Sophomore Danielle du Toit is tied for 55th after shooting a 4-over 76.

Playing in her first collegiate tournament as an individual, freshman Daniela Ballesteros is tied for 66th with a 5-over 77.
