Senior Samson Colebrooke, sophomores Jessica Bray and Jae'Nisa Heckstall and freshmen Kerris Roberts and Johnny Vanos all posted marks that rank among the top-10-best in school history in their events. Colebrooke led the Boilermakers with two top-four finishes, while Bray placed second overall on pole vault. Additionally, six more personal-record marks were set to go along with the five that found their place in Purdue's record books.

"I thought we had a very good showing across the board today," Purdue coach Norbert Elliott said. "We had some really good, significant performances, and for most of us this is meet No. 4, so these are the kind of performances that we expect. We're really trending in the right direction. I'm really proud of all the top-10 marks and all the personal-bests that we put out today. We'll see what happens tomorrow, I think we're going into the day with a lot of confidence, and I expect a bit of the same as we did today."

Purdue is competing against 16 teams at the two-day Rod McCravy Memorial. Eleven of this weekend's women's opponents and 10 men's foes appear in the Preseason Indoor Track & Field National Rating Index. That includes four top-14-ranked women's squads and four top-30 men's teams.

Bray posted the top finish for Purdue, as she placed second overall in the pole vault and first among collegiate competitors. Her mark of 4.10 meters is fifth-best in program history and bested her previous PR of 3.90 meters, set earlier this season. Bray is the first Boilermaker to reach 4.00 meters since 2016.

Colebrooke recorded two top-four finishes on the day, highlighted by a fourth-place showing in the 200-meter event. His time of 20.88 seconds, which was fourth overall, is the third-fastest in school history and the fastest by a Purdue runner since 2014. Colebrooke's previous PR was 21.19 seconds, which was tied for fourth-fastest in the school record books. The senior also placed third overall in the 60-meter prelims, with a time of 6.72 seconds.

The Boilermakers recorded two top-10 times in the women's 200-meter run, led by Roberts' time of 24.24, the eighth-fastest time in program history. She finished ninth overall, ahead of Heckstall, who was 11th. Heckstall's time of 24.39 is the 10th-fastest all-time at Purdue.

Vanos cemented his name in the Purdue record books at No. 9 in the weight throw. With a throw of 19.18 meters, he is the first to crack the top-10 list since 2018 and just the third since 2009.

Additionally, seniors Jaden Mattox and Asia Young each placed in the top-10 in the women's long jump event. Mattox was seventh overall, with a jump of 5.80 meters, and Young was ninth, with a mark of 5.72. In his Purdue debut, freshman Marcellus Moore placed sixth in the men's 60-meter prelims (6.80 seconds). In the women's 600-meter run, senior Samara Miller (9th, 1:33.18) and freshman Ella Robinson (10th, 1:33.42) also earned top-10 finishes.
