WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue women's basketball team will embark on a new season Saturday afternoon for its 39th campaign in the Big Ten Conference. The Boilermakers will open up league play at Ohio State with a noon tip at St. John Arena.

Purdue returns to action after back-to-back wins before the holiday break. The Boilermakers scored a season-high against Bowling Green in an 81-74 win over the Falcons on Dec. 21. Ae'Rianna Harris notched her third double-double of the year with 23 points and 14 rebounds, while Kayana Traylor dropped a career-high 19 points, including 9-of-10 free throws.
Defensively, the Boilermakers rank 12th in the nation in blocked shots with a Big Ten-best 65 rejections, led by Harris' 39 swats, the NCAA active career blocked shots leader. Purdue is allowing just 59.4 points per game, after holding five opponents below 55 points this season.

• Ohio State has a 46-30 all-time lead over Purdue.
• The Boilermakers are 22-15 in Big Ten openers, including a 9-4 mark under head coach Sharon Versyp.
• Purdue will start conference play on the road for the seventh time in the last eight seasons.
