WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue women's basketball team will face its second AP-ranked opponent this season when it travels to Columbia, S.C., to face No. 5/6 South Carolina on Sunday. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. on SEC Network+.

Purdue bounced back from a pair of defeats with a 77-64 win over Kent State last Sunday. Karissa McLaughlin dropped a career-high 34 points, including a perfect 10-for-10 mark at the free throw line, to lead the Boilermakers. The career day brought the Fort Wayne native within 33 points of 1,000 for her career.
The two sides will meet for the second consecutive year. Last season, Purdue pushed the No. 25 Gamecocks to double overtime in Mackey Arena. McLaughlin struck for 25 points, while Dominique Oden chipped in 19 points. Purdue shot 41.5% from the field with a 46.2% clip from 3-point range.
Following the matchup against the Gamecocks, Purdue will return to Mackey Arena for the final two games of the non-conference season with contests against Western Kentucky (Dec. 18) and Bowling Green (Dec. 21).

• The all-time series between Purdue and South Carolina is tied at 2-2.
• The Boilermakers continue to rank among the nation's leaders in defense, checking in at 14th in field-goal percentage defense (33.2%), 38th in scoring defense (56 ppg) and 34th in 3-point percentage defense (25.9%).

• McLaughlin took over the team lead with 11.6 points per game after her career day against Kent State.
• Harris and Tamara Farquhar have been a dominating post tandem this season with 19.4 points and 16.7 rebounds per game this season. Together, the duo has accounted for more than 1,350 rebounds since 2017-18.
• The Boilermakers are 18-54 against team ranked in the top five of the AP Top-25
• Purdue senior associate head coach Melanie Balcomb served as the director of offensive coaching analytics for the Gamecocks for their national championship in 2017.
• Head coach Sharon Versyp notched her 400th career victory last weekend with the win over Kent State. Versyp is 400-229 (.636) in her 20th season as a head coach and 283-164 (.633) in her 14th campaign at Purdue.
