ESPNW Rankings
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Heading into the opening game of the 2019-20 season, Purdue women's basketball senior Ae'Rianna Harris added another honor to her preseason haul. On Monday, the senior was ranked 24th in ESPNW's Top-25 players in the country.
The Indianapolis native already had Preseason All-Big Ten and Lisa Leslie Award Preseason Watch List on her resume heading into the season. The reigning two-time Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year is just the fourth player in conference player to earn the league's defensive honor in back-to-back campaigns.
Harris enters her senior campaign 16 blocks shy of 300 career rejections and 189 rebounds away from hitting the 1,000-board plateau. She is the NCAA active blocked shots leader, 42 ahead of ESPNW's No. 2 player Lauren Cox from Baylor, the closest Division I player.
Harris and the Boilermakers will open the 2019-20 season Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. against Milwaukee at Mackey Arena.
Sunday will be Boilermaker Kid's Club Day and Service Day. Any first responders, hospital staff, police, firefighters or military can purchase a $2 general admission ticket by calling the ticket office or visiting the box office. For more information, click here.
