WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. –
Highlighted by 19 matches at the Schwartz Tennis Center, the Purdue men's tennis team announced its 2020 spring schedule Wednesday. Head coach Pawel Gajdzik and the Boilermakers will face 12 teams that made the NCAA Tournament in 2019.

"We're excited to have a schedule packed with so many high-caliber teams," Gajdzik said. "We made sure to add several NCAA Tournament teams to our non-conference schedule in order to prepare us for the challenges in the Big Ten and the postseason. We cannot wait to showcase this team at the Schwartz Tennis Center all season. With so many home matches, there are plenty of opportunities for fans to come out and watch us play."

Purdue's slate will feature 15 teams ranked in the final Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings last season.

"I'm very excited to play almost my entire senior season at home," senior Athell Bennett said. "Having the support for the fans will motivate us to play at our best. I can't wait to leave everything I have out on the court this season."

The season will open with six straight matches on road. The Boilermakers will face Harvard, Marist and Army West Point at the Arthur Ashe Invitational in West Point, N.Y., on Jan. 18-19, before a road trip to Notre Dame on Jan. 20.

ITA Kickoff Weekend over Jan. 25-26 will feature a match at Ohio State, followed by a contest against Tulsa or Utah. All three teams finished 2019 ranked.

Purdue will return to West Lafayette for 11 matches in a row. Back-to-back doubleheaders against DePaul (Feb. 1), Toledo (Feb. 1), Chicago State (Feb. 8) and IUPUI (Feb. 8) precede a showdown against Florida on Feb. 9.

The Boilermakers will close out the homestand with a trio of doubleheaders against Marquette and Butler on Feb. 15, Indiana and Valparaiso on Feb. 22 and Drake and Cleveland State on March 1.

Gajdzik will take the squad on the road for four of the next six contests – March 8 at Illinois, March 18 at Arizona, March 28 at Michigan and March 29 at Michigan State – with the lone home contests March 14 against Niagara.

The month of April will have six home matches against Northwestern on April 1, Ohio State on April 3, Penn State on April 5, IUPUI on April 5, Minnesota on April 10 and Wisconsin on April 12, before the season finishes on the road at Iowa on April 17 and Nebraska on April 19.
