Boilermakers Welcome Southern Indiana for Sunday Exhibition

Tickets are still available for the Boilermakers' exhibition game against Southern Indiana on Sunday at Mackey Arena. Tipoff is set for noon, and it's the first Boilermaker Kid's Club Day of the year. 

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. The Purdue women's basketball team will hit the floor on Sunday afternoon for its lone exhibition prior to the 2019-20 campaign. The Boilermakers will host Southern Indiana at Mackey Arena with tipoff set for noon.

BTN+ will have the game stream. Tim Newton will have the radio call on 95.3 BOB FM.

Purdue enters the season with its entire starting lineup returning from last year. All-Big Ten trio Karissa McLaughlin, Dominique Oden and Ae'Rianna Harris headline a veteran squad that brings back 100% of the points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks from 2018-19.

The Boilermakers were picked to finish fifth in the Big Ten by the league's coaches. Harris and McLaughlin were named to the Preseason All-Big Ten squads by the coaches and media. Harris also received a spot on the Lisa Leslie Award Watch List.

NOTES
• Head coach Sharon Versyp returns to the sideline for her 14th campaign at the helm of the Boilermakers. She is Purdue's all-time leader in wins with 276 and NCAA Tournament appearances with nine.
The Boilermakers are 45-3 all-time in exhibitions, including 40 straight wins. 
• In the Versyp era, Purdue is 15-0 in exhibition games with an average winning margin of 37.5 points.
• The 3-point corps of McLaughlin, Oden and Kayana Traylor hit 177 of Purdue's 194 shots from behind the arc last season.
• Redshirt junior Fatou Diagne (Senegal) and freshman Roxane Makolo (U19 Canada) spent the summer playing for their national teams at 2019 AfroBasket and the FIBA Women's World Cup, respectively.
• McLaughlin will start the year 137 points shy of joining the 1,000-point club.
• Harris is on pace to be the first Boilermaker to join the 1,000-point, 1,000-rebound and 300-block club.
• Last season, Purdue went 19-15 on the year. The Boilermakers picked up a trio of wins against ranked opposition, including a 62-57 win against No. 17 Iowa. 
• The Boilermakers finished one win shy of its 26th season with at least 20 wins.
• Purdue will open the 2019-20 regular season Sunday, Nov. 10, at 2 p.m. against Milwaukee at Mackey Arena.

 Southern Indiana posted a 20-9 overall record last year with a 13-5 mark in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
