The Purdue women's tennis team wrapped up its weekend on Sunday at the Wildcat Invitational, hosted by Northwestern. The Boilermakers posted a perfect 4-0 record in singles action.

EVANSTON, Ill. – The Purdue women's tennis team wrapped up its weekend on Sunday at the Wildcat Invitational, hosted by Northwestern. The Boilermakers posted a perfect 4-0 record in singles action.

Seira Shimizu claimed the consolation title in the E flight. The junior rolled off a pair of wins to cap her singles tournament. In the first match against Hanna Wikberg from Penn State, Shimizu outlasted her Big Ten foe in a tiebreak, 6-2, 5-7 (13-11), to advance to the finals. She later rallied after dropping the first set to beat Diana Borodina of Chicago State, 2-6, 7-5, 6-1.

Alex Sabe and Zala Dovnik took third-place honors in their respective singles flights. Sabe ousted Milica Novakovic from Marquette in the B draw, 6-2, 6-2, and Dovnik topped Vanessa Streng from Northwestern, 6-4, 6-4.

Csilla Fodor was originally scheduled to play in the consolation round of the pre-qualifying round of the ITA All-American Championships, but rain forced the cancellation of her match. She is slated to play with Ena Babic on Monday morning in the first round of the qualifying doubles draw against Malkia Ngounoue and Maria Toran Ribes of Kansas. Babic will also play in the qualifying singles draw on Monday against Rebeka Stolmar from UCF.
