Wilmington, N.C. –The women's golf team stands in a three-way tie for 14th with Maryland and UNC Wilmington after the opening round of the Landfall Tradition. The Boilermakers carded a combined 10-over round of 298 during the first 18 holes of competition Friday.
 
Senior Micaela Farah turned in the most consistent performance individually, finishing with a one-over round of 73 (37-36). After playing the front nine at one-over, Farah paired two birdies with two bogies to finish even on the back nine and tied for 29th in the individual standings.
 
Juniors Lauren Guiao (36-39) and Inez Wanamarta (37-38), along with freshman Sifat Sagoo (37-38), wound up three-over par at 75 in the opening round. The trio will enter the second round Saturday tied for 49th in the individual standings
 
Sophomore Danielle du Toit carded a four-over 76 (38-38) in the first round to place her in a tie for 65th individually.
 
Alabama enters Saturday's second round as the leader, shooting a three-under 285 as team Friday. Individually, UCF's Tunrada Piddon scored a four-under 68 to lead all players.
 
Second round tee times will begin Saturday at 8:30 a.m. ET with a split tee start on holes 1 and 10. Sunday's third round will begin at 8:45 a.m. ET with a shotgun start.
