Bell Repeats as Big Ten Freshman of the Week

David Bell has been named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week for a second consecutive week.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - David Bell has been named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week for a second consecutive week. Bell is the third Boilermaker to earn that conference recognition on multiple occasions, following Frankie Williams (twice in 2012) and Rondale Moore (three times in 2018).

Bell caught a season-high 13 passes for 197 yards and a touchdown at Iowa last week. His yardage total was the most by a freshman in school history and the eighth-most by any player at Purdue. Bell, who has 39 receptions for 635 yards and four touchdowns on the season, was coming off a performance against Maryland that saw him finish with nine catches for 138 yards and two scores to earn him the conference's freshman accolades the previous week.
