A day after knocking off a top-30 opponent, Athell Bennett's run at the ITA All-American Championships came to an end on Thursday. The senior on the Purdue men's tennis team dropped his second-round matchup to Texas A&M's Juan Carlos Aguilar, the No. 13 player in the nation.

TULSA, Okla. - A day after knocking off a top-30 opponent, Athell Bennett's run at the ITA All-American Championships came to an end on Thursday. The senior on the Purdue men's tennis team dropped his second-round matchup to Texas A&M's Juan Carlos Aguilar, the No. 13 player in the nation.

Bennett put up a spirited fight against the Aggies' No. 1. He fought to a 6-4 loss in the first set, before a 6-1 score in the second ended his run at the tournament.

The Valley Stream, N.Y., native knocked off ORACLE/ITA No. 28 Joseph Guillin from UC Santa Barbara in the first round of the main draw on Wednesday.

The Boilermakers will take to the courts again on Oct. 24 for the OTA Ohio Valley Regionals in Nashville.
