MEDINAH, Ill – The Purdue women's golf team wrapped up the first and second rounds of the Illini Invitational 10th overall, carding a combined 13-over par 589 at Medinah Country Club. After shooting eight-over in the opening round, the Boilermakers shaved three strokes off in the second round (296-293).
Individually, freshman Sifat Sagoo paced the Boilermakers with back-back-back rounds of even-par 72 (72-72=144). Sagoo had seven birdies on the day. She enters Tuesday's final round tied for 21st.
Sophomore Danielle du Toit, who recorded Purdue's first eagle of the season to open the second 18 on the par-5 seventh, shot par in the round and ended her day three-over at 147 (75-72). In addition to the eagle, du Toit had five birdies on the day. She will tee off Tuesday tied for 32nd overall.
Senior Micaela Farah tallied rounds of 74 and 73 to finish three-over 147 through the first 32 holes. Farah had seven birdies in the opening two rounds.
Junior Inez Wanamarta carded rounds of 75 and 76 to end at seven-over 150, while classmate Lauren Guiao had consecutive rounds of 76 to wrap up her two-round total of eight-over 152.
The third and final round tomorrow will see No. 5 Kent State leading the field at nine-under 567. The Boilermakers tee off in a shotgun start at 10 a.m. ET.
