Purdue Invite Central I Milwaukee Tennis Classic Central | MTC Draws
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue women's tennis team is set to open its 2019 fall season this weekend in two separate tournaments. Ena Babic and Csilla Fodor will represent the Boilermakers at the 44th Milwaukee Tennis Classic, while the rest of the squad will compete in the Purdue Invite at the Schwartz Tennis Center.
The duo bound for Milwaukee will battle players from 20 schools across the country, starting Friday with the opening rounds of the singles and doubles flights. The event runs through the championship rounds on Monday at the Western Racquet Club.
Babic and Fodor will face Martina Kudelova and Radka Buzkova from FAU in the first round of the doubles flight on Friday morning. Babic will have a quick turnaround for her Friday singles match against No. 5 seed and ORACLE/ITA No. 80 Daevenia Achong from Miami. Fodor will have the rest of Friday off with a first-round bye as the No. 1 seed for the singles flight.
The remainder of the Boilermakers will start the three-day Purdue Invite on Friday. Athletes from 10 visiting schools – Louisville, UConn, DePaul, Northern Illinois, Wright State, Ball State, Eastern Michigan, Miami University, Cincinnati and Lipscomb – will make the trek to West Lafayette.
The Purdue Invite schedule will start at 9 a.m. all three days with back-to-back doubles matches, followed by a singles round.
