WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue men's golf team will open the 2019-20 season with a trip to Michigan's Upper Peninsula for the inaugural Island Resort Intercollegiate.
The two-day, 54-hole tournament begins Sunday with 36 holes on the 7,325-yard layout. Action will conclude on Labor Day with 18 holes.
Purdue will bring eight players to Michigan, with its counting team consisting of three juniors and two freshmen.
The Boilermakers have made six straight NCAA Regional appearances, advancing to the National Championships in 2014, 2016 and 2017.

THE COURSE
Playing par 72 and 7,325 yards, Sage Run Golf Club features a long, sloping ridge that traverses the entire course in different directions. The course features pine scrub areas, open areas and partially wooded areas giving every hole a unique feel.

- Joe Weiler, Junior: Weiler had an outstanding offseason, winning the Indiana Amateur Championship and placing fifth at the Indiana Open … appeared in 10 events last season, owning a 74.26 stroke average … recorded 10 rounds of even-par or better … set the tone in the first round of the Big Ten Championships with an opening-round 70.
- Jason Hong, Junior: Played well during qualifying to earn a spot in the lineup … appeared in nine events a year ago with a 75.00 stroke average … recorded a top-five finish at the Boilermaker Invitational (T-3) and a top-20 showing at the Chatham Hills Collegiate (T-12).
- Peyton Snoeberger, Freshman: Will play in first career tournament after a strong high school career at Seeger Memorial … qualified for the Jr. PGA Championship, finishing T-24th after sitting in the top five after 36 holes … finished T-8th at the Indiana Amateur Championship and won medalist honors in 2018 U.S. Open local qualifying.
- Nick Dentino, Freshman: An outstanding golfer at Carmel High School, Dentino won the 2019 Indiana State championship … led Carmel to the 2018 and 2019 Indiana High School State Championship … qualified for the U.S. Amateur Championship at Pebble Beach in 2018.
- Cole Bradley, Junior: Bradley had another strong season as a sophomore, averaging 72.57 strokes per round … posted back-to-back top-10 finishes at the Intercollegiate at the Grove and the Chatham Hills Collegiate last fall … recorded 18 rounds of even par or better, tied for the fifth most in Purdue history.
