WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Senior Micaela Farah, junior Inez Wanamarta and sophomore Danielle du Toit were named to the 2019-20 Big Ten women's golf preseason watch list Wednesday. It is the third appearance on the list for Farah, the second for du Toit and the first for Wanamarta.
Farah, a two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection, enters her final season at Purdue coming off a junior year that saw her average 74.08 strokes per round in 13 varsity events. She had a pair of top-10 tournament performances last season and six events in the top-20, including 13 rounds of par or better. She tied for fifth in the NCAA Norman Regional with a three-under par tally of 213.
Wanamarta, a second-team All-Big Ten selection last season, averaged 73.67 strokes in 11 events and 30 rounds. She scored the most team rounds of any member of the team, posting a counting score in 90.7 percent, while finishing in a tie for 23rd at the NCAA Championships. Wanamarta earned Big Ten Freshman of the Year and first-team All-Big honors in her inaugural season at Purdue in 2017-18.
Du Toit is the 11th Boilermaker in school history to earn all-conference recognition as a freshman after finishing her rookie year with second-team honors. She was the Boilermakers' top finisher at the NCAA Championships last season, tying for 19th place at six-over par, and shooting even-par 73 in the second and third rounds. Du Toit played in all 13 varsity events in her rookie season, averaging 73.64 strokes over 36 rounds.
